Skate the same ice as Olympic speed skaters, with Santa doing laps beside you. The Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary hosts a holiday skate with Santa each December.
What to Expect
In 2025 the Skate with Santa and Holiday Market ran on Saturday, December 6, with Santa on the ice and 80-plus vendors at the University of Calgary’s holiday market on the same day. It’s indoors, so it runs whatever the weather.
Tips
- Bring helmets for kids; the ice is fast.
- Skate rentals are available on site.
- Park at the university and walk over, or take the Red Line to University station.
