Every Calgary winter has a week when going outside feels like a dare. Here’s how to keep Christmas going indoors.
Best Indoor Christmas Outings
- Holiday Wonder: a million lights, a Christmas village and Santa inside the BMO Centre.
- The Nutcracker: December 11–24 at the Jubilee.
- A Christmas Carol: November 26 to December 27.
- Christmas concerts: the Calgary Phil’s Holiday Swing, the Grinch in concert and Traditional Christmas.
- Calgary Farmers’ Market Christmas Market: free, warm and full of food.
- TELUS Spark: hands-on science with holiday programming.
Indoor Markets
- The Art Market Christmas show at the TELUS Convention Centre (November 19–22)
- The Calgary Holiday Geeky Gift Market at the BMO Centre (December 5–6)
- Community hall craft fairs most November weekends

Mostly Indoors
The Spruce Meadows market has heated halls and tents, and the Enchanted Festival has an indoor lights maze, though both involve walking outside.
Stay Inside Downtown
Downtown’s +15 skywalk network lets you walk between buildings without going outside, and the Central Library is a great free warm-up stop.
