A pot of tea, a tier of scones and mince tarts, a window full of snow: a festive afternoon tea is one of the coziest ways to spend a December afternoon in Calgary.
Lougheed House
The 1891 sandstone mansion in the Beltline decorates for Christmas and hosts holiday afternoon teas; in 2025 they ran on December 7 and 21. See Lougheed House’s website.
Hotel High Teas
Downtown hotels, including the Fairmont Palliser, traditionally serve festive afternoon teas on December weekends, often with live piano or carollers. Book early; Saturday seatings go first.
Tea with Mrs. Claus
In 2025 the Calgary Farmers’ Market hosted Tea with Mrs. Claus at both locations, with treats and stories for kids. We’ll add the 2026 dates when posted. See the Calgary Farmers’ Market Christmas Market.
Tips
- Book two to four weeks ahead.
- Ask about dietary options when you reserve.
- Weekday teas are quieter and often cheaper.
