In Search of Christmas Spirit is the most magical free thing to do in Banff at Christmas. The Cascade of Time Garden, just across the Bow River bridge from Banff Avenue, becomes an illuminated story walk told by the wildlife of Banff National Park, with lights, colour and sound in the trees and snow.
It runs on select evenings from November 12, 2026 to January 3, 2027. Admission is free, but every guest needs a reserved ticket, and they go fast.
More displays are in our Christmas lights in Calgary roundup.
