Christmas Train Rides Near Calgary 2026

Kids love a Christmas train. Here are the best ways to ride, or watch, one around Calgary.

Heritage Holiday Train, Heritage Park

During Once Upon A Christmas, a short holiday train makes two loops of the Park from Midnapore Station (separate ticket). Rides are cancelled at –20°C.

Airdrie Festival of Lights Miniature Trains

Little trains run through the lights at the free Airdrie Festival of Lights, December 1 to 31.

Aspen Crossing Christmas Train

Aspen Crossing near Mossleigh, about an hour southeast, ran a holiday train ride through December 24 in 2025, and hosts a Christmas market on November 14–15, 2026. Check their site for 2026 train dates.

Watch the CPKC Holiday Train

No rides, but a free concert: the CPKC Holiday Train stops at Anderson Station on December 11 at 7 PM.
