Calgary hasn’t had a citywide Santa Claus Parade since 2006, so two lake communities in the southeast have filled the gap with their own parades of lights.
Mahogany Parade of Lights
Santa and Mrs. Claus lead a roughly 1.3 km parade through Mahogany, with floats from local groups and businesses and decorated homes along the route. The parade takes 30 to 40 minutes to pass.
Auburn Bay Parade of Lights
Next door, Auburn Bay holds its own community parade of lights with Santa and lit floats.

Tips
- These are community events: park legally and expect road closures along the route.
- Bring a thermos and a lawn chair blanket to sit on.
