From 191 metres up, Calgary at Christmas is a grid of lights stretching to the dark prairie. The Calgary Tower makes a great stop on a December evening, especially paired with ZOOLIGHTS.

Lights & Heights Pass
For 2026, the Calgary Zoo sells a Lights & Heights Pass that covers the Calgary Tower and ZOOLIGHTS: see the city lights from above, then ride the CTrain east and walk among a million lights at ground level. In 2025 the zoo offered the same idea as a Calgary Tower combo for the first time.
Best Time to Go
Arrive just before sunset (around 4:30 PM in December) to watch the city light up, then head to the zoo when ZOOLIGHTS opens at 5:30.
Holiday Dining
The Tower’s revolving restaurant has traditionally offered festive menus in December and special dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Check the Tower’s website for 2026 menus and book early.
