Small town, big parade. Fort Macleod, two hours south of Calgary, hosts what it bills as the largest Santa Claus parade west of Toronto: around 100 entries, including several marching bands, the Calgary Stampede Showband in recent years, and Santa as the finale.
What Else Is On
After the parade in past years there’s been a Christmas market, photos with Santa and a family dance, making it a full day trip.
Getting There
Take Highway 2 south about two hours. Check road conditions before you go; southern Alberta winds can make driving tricky.
